  Most employees who've helped me at this office have been brusque, distracted, and patronizing but not actually unkind or inept. However, the last woman I saw there not only failed to help me but actually traumatized me to such an extent that I'll never go back. I went in frustrated but calm, asking her to explain to me why my benefits, which had been supposed to resume two months prior, had not as well as what further information I needed to disclose to get a fee waived. Certainly the reinstatement of my benefits if not the request for financial records was in her computer records, but she hardly consulted them. Instead, she gave me misinformation--that I needed to adduce pay stubs that the central office had already received and noted; that they couldn't have billed me for overpayment though in fact they did, which I told her; and that I needed to send pay stubs to the local office every month to receive benefits, which I had never done or been told I had to do throughout the three years I'd received them. She interrupted me and raised her voice to speak over mine, leaving me in tears and more confused than ever. I haven't been to that office since and really wish I had recorded her name so she'd be less likely to subject someone else in need to such appalling treatment.

  Service is as expected when there is short staffing. Have been happy with the help I receive most of the time.If I have an employee who seems rude or out of sorts, I just ask the how the day is going for them which usually helps to bring them out of their disgruntled mood.

  I realize that the people who work here are underpaid, hate their jobs, and just want you to go away, however, they should at the very least use the Golden Rule of customer service. I had an appointment set up for one month and arrived on time only to be directed to the wrong lady "in a black sweater." Heaven forbid, I missed the "correct lady in a black sweater." I was made to feel like a criminal, with yes, you guessed it, all the folks in the waiting room getting their fill of drama for the 9 o'clock AM hour. And to top it off, and here's the kicker, I told them that this was the first time I'd been to this office, and LISA, who was the "lady in the black sweater" that I should've gone to first STATED THAT I HAD BEEN IN THE OFFICE THE DAY BEFORE! Wow, what a terrible thing to say to a person who's flustered and anxious about doing everything correctly and then to made a mockery of. Needless to say, I was not in the office the day before. It was a terrible terrible experience today and I will attempt to never go back! And the worst part is, I'm 63, I've been working since I was 16, and this is my money that I put into this system. And as a taxpayer I (help to) pay their salaries and retirement and they treat you like S***!!!
